Elora product joins Listowel following a 25-goal campaign with the Guelph Jr. Gryphons U18 AAA program
LISTOWEL, ONT. — The Listowel Cyclones are proud to announce the signing of forward Ryerson Doucette for the 2026–2027 Greater Ontario Hockey League season.
The 17-year-old from Elora, Ontario, joins the Cyclones following a breakout 2025–2026 campaign with the Guelph Jr. Gryphons U18 AAA program.
Doucette recorded 19 goals and nine assists for 28 points across 34 OMHA regular-season appearances. The six-foot, right-shooting forward finished among the league’s leading goal scorers while establishing himself as a consistent offensive presence for Guelph.
He elevated his production during the postseason, scoring six goals and adding three assists for nine points in eight playoff contests. Doucette’s 1.13 points-per-game playoff pace demonstrated his ability to make an impact when the intensity and importance of each game increased.
Across the regular season and playoffs, Doucette finished his U18 AAA campaign with 25 goals, 12 assists and 37 points through 42 appearances.
His production reflects a forward capable of creating offence in several ways. Doucette possesses the finishing ability required to convert scoring opportunities, while his size and competitive approach allow him to battle for possession and establish position in difficult areas of the ice.
Doucette also brings a noticeable physical edge to his game. He accumulated 70 penalty minutes during the regular season while continuing to play meaningful offensive minutes, giving the Cyclones a player capable of contributing both on the scoresheet and in the more demanding areas of the game.
Alongside his U18 AAA responsibilities, Doucette gained valuable junior experience with the Fergus Whalers of the Provincial Junior Hockey League. He appeared in six games during the 2025–2026 season and scored his first junior goal.
That opportunity provided Doucette with an early introduction to the increased pace, strength and physical demands of junior hockey. He now arrives in Listowel better prepared to make the transition into the Greater Ontario Hockey League.
Doucette’s development has been defined by steady advancement through the Guelph Jr. Gryphons organization. He recorded nine goals and two assists for 11 points in 14 games at the U16 AA level during the 2023–2024 season before earning an opportunity with Guelph’s U18 AAA program the following year.
After appearing in three U18 AAA games during the 2024–2025 campaign, Doucette returned the following season and emerged as one of the team’s most productive goal scorers.
His progression from AA hockey to U18 AAA and the junior ranks demonstrates a willingness to continue developing while adapting to stronger levels of competition. His substantial increase in production during the 2025–2026 season represents an important step forward in his young career.
The addition of Doucette provides the Cyclones with another talented local forward who combines size, scoring ability and competitive intensity. His proven goal production and strong postseason performance will add further depth to Listowel’s forward group entering the new season.
