CYCLONES SIGN OHL AND USHL DRAFTED FORWARD SHAYNE KEEFE FOR 2026–27 SEASON

Sarnia Sting and Chicago Steel prospect joins Listowel following an outstanding 85-point season with BioSteel Sports Academy U16 AAA

LISTOWEL, ONT. — The Listowel Cyclones are proud to announce the signing of forward Shayne Keefe for the 2026–2027 Greater Ontario Hockey League season.

The 16-year-old from Park Ridge, Illinois, arrives in Listowel following an exceptional season with BioSteel Sports Academy. A highly productive right-shooting forward, Keefe has established himself as an exciting offensive prospect through his scoring ability, creativity and consistent production.

Keefe served as captain of BioSteel’s U16 AAA team during the 2025–2026 campaign, recording 37 goals and 48 assists for 85 points across 63 appearances. His nearly identical goal and assist production demonstrated his ability to both finish scoring opportunities and create offence for his teammates.

In addition to his outstanding U16 season, Keefe earned opportunities against older competition with BioSteel’s U18 AAA program. He contributed three goals and three assists for six points in six appearances, including four points through four Ontario Prep Hockey League games.

Keefe also delivered an exceptional performance on the international development stage. Representing Team Columbia at the 2026 USA Select 16 event, he recorded four goals and six assists for 10 points in only four games.

That performance followed another productive showing with Team Navy at the 2025 USA Select 15 event, where Keefe collected one goal and four assists through four contests. Across the two events, he amassed five goals and 10 assists for 15 points in eight games.

His production and long-term potential earned recognition from organizations on both sides of the border. The Chicago Steel selected Keefe in the fifth round, 71st overall, of the 2026 USHL Phase I Draft.

Keefe was subsequently selected by the Sarnia Sting in the 12th round, 225th overall, of the 2026 OHL Priority Selection. Being chosen in both drafts reflects his standing as a promising young forward and provides him with multiple avenues through which to continue his development.

Before captaining BioSteel’s U16 team, Keefe produced a remarkable 2024–2025 season at the 14U AAA level. He recorded 78 goals and 53 assists for 131 points across 69 appearances, averaging nearly two points per game.

Keefe was particularly dominant in Tier 1 Elite Hockey League competition that season. He registered 15 goals and five assists for 20 points in eight regular-season games before adding seven goals and four assists for 11 points in only four playoff contests.

His 14U campaign showcased an advanced ability to generate offence, with Keefe combining natural finishing instincts with the vision and puck skill required to create opportunities for those around him.

Keefe began his AAA development with the Chicago Reapers before joining BioSteel Sports Academy and emerging as a captain, prolific scorer and dual-drafted prospect. His progression reflects a player who has consistently elevated his production while successfully adapting to stronger and older competition.

The addition of Keefe gives the Cyclones another dynamic young forward as the organization continues assembling its roster for the upcoming season. His offensive résumé, leadership experience and success at elite American development events make him an exciting addition to Listowel’s forward group.

The 2026–2027 season will provide Keefe with an opportunity to take another important step in his development while adjusting to the pace, physicality and demands of junior hockey.

The Listowel Cyclones are thrilled to welcome Shayne and his family to the organization and to the Listowel community.

Welcome to Listowel, Shayne.
