LISTOWEL, ON – It was a productive week for the Listowel Cyclones as they earned two crucial points on the road before returning home for a tightly contested rivalry matchup on Halloween night.
Commanding Win in Sarnia — October 30
The Cyclones put together a dominant performance at the Sarnia Arena on Thursday evening, skating to a decisive 8–1 victory over the Legionnaires. From the 7:10 PM puck drop, Listowel took control in every zone, showcasing depth scoring and defensive discipline.
Jordan Visneskie, Lyndon Cabral, and Hudson Wiles each netted two goals, leading a multi-threat offensive attack. Colton Henderson and Ethan Fischer contributed a goal apiece, rounding out the eight-goal effort.
Production came from all over the lineup, as Henderson, Visneskie, Cabral, Wiles, and Trent Harris each added assists.
In goal, Jack Bree was sharp and composed, turning aside 21 of 22 shots to secure the win.
Battle of 86 Thriller — October 31
On Friday, the Cyclones returned to home ice at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena to host the Elmira Sugar Kings — the top team in the Western Conference — for the always intense “Battle of 86.”
True to form, the game was tight, physical, and filled with playoff-like intensity. Despite a strong late push, the Cyclones came up just short in a 2–1 defeat.
Hudson Wiles scored the lone goal for Listowel midway through the third period on the power play, capitalizing on slick puck movement from Jordan Visneskie and Lyndon Cabral.
Ethan Kowatch stood tall in the crease, making 27 saves to keep the game within reach from start to finish.
Next Up: Veterans Night — November 7
The Cyclones are back at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena on Friday, November 7th as they welcome the Komoka Kings for a special and meaningful evening.
It will be Veterans Night, as the organization pays tribute to those who have served and continue to serve our country. Fans are strongly encouraged to wear a poppy and join the Cyclones in commemorating Canada’s proud military history ahead of Remembrance Day.
Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 PM
