OHL-drafted Howick forward returns to Listowel after recording 14 points during his rookie GOHL campaign
LISTOWEL, ONT. — The Listowel Cyclones are proud to announce that forward Clark deBoer will return to the organization for the 2026–2027 Greater Ontario Hockey League season.
A native of Howick, Ontario, deBoer became a full-time member of the Cyclones during the 2025–2026 campaign and made an encouraging transition into junior hockey. The young forward appeared in 46 games, recording five goals and nine assists for 14 points while gaining valuable experience throughout his rookie season.
DeBoer demonstrated his ability to contribute in several different situations during the campaign. His first career GOHL goal came in memorable fashion at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena, where he scored shorthanded against the St. Thomas Stars after being set up by fellow rookie Ryan Cranny.
The milestone goal represented an important early moment in deBoer’s junior career and offered a glimpse of the offensive instincts, awareness and determination he brings to Listowel’s forward group.
As the season progressed, deBoer continued to become increasingly comfortable within the Cyclones’ lineup. He contributed offensively at even strength and on special teams, including a two-assist performance during Listowel’s 6–3 victory over the Caledon Bombers. Both assists came on first-period power-play goals as the Cyclones established early control of the contest.
In addition to his offensive production, deBoer recorded 47 penalty minutes during the season, reflecting the competitive edge and willingness to engage that accompanied his adjustment to the physical demands of the GOHL.
The 2025–2026 campaign was not deBoer’s first experience with the Cyclones. He made one appearance as an affiliated player during the 2024–2025 season before earning a permanent place on Listowel’s roster the following year.
That progression followed an impressive U16 AAA season with the Huron-Perth Lakers. DeBoer recorded 10 goals and 15 assists for 25 points in 30 ALLIANCE regular-season games during the 2024–2025 campaign.
He continued his strong play during the postseason, contributing four goals and four assists for eight points through 11 playoff appearances. Altogether, deBoer produced 14 goals and 19 assists for 33 points across 41 regular-season and playoff games at the U16 AAA level.
His performance with Huron-Perth earned recognition from the Ontario Hockey League. The Sarnia Sting selected deBoer in the seventh round, 140th overall, of the 2025 OHL Priority Selection.
Being selected by Sarnia represented a significant milestone in deBoer’s development and reflected the offensive potential, work ethic and long-term upside he displayed throughout his U16 season. He entered the GOHL as an OHL-drafted prospect and used his first full junior campaign to continue developing against older and more experienced competition.
DeBoer’s offensive ability was already evident during the 2023–2024 season with the Huron-Perth Lakers U15 AAA program. In 23 ALLIANCE games, he recorded 10 goals and 11 assists for 21 points, finishing just below a point-per-game pace.
His nearly even distribution of goals and assists at both the U15 and U16 levels demonstrated an ability to finish scoring opportunities while also creating offence for his teammates. That balanced production continued during his rookie season in Listowel, with nine of his 14 points coming through assists.
DeBoer has now progressed from the Lakers’ U14 program to productive U15 and U16 seasons, OHL draft recognition and a full year of junior hockey with the Cyclones. Each stage has provided another opportunity for him to develop his offensive game, physical maturity and understanding of the responsibilities required at the junior level.
Returning to Listowel will give deBoer the opportunity to build upon the experience gained during his rookie campaign. With 47 career appearances already completed in a Cyclones uniform, he enters the upcoming season with familiarity, confidence and an established place within the organization.
The return of deBoer adds another talented young forward to Listowel’s developing roster. His offensive background, OHL-drafted status and year of GOHL experience make him an important returning piece as the Cyclones continue preparing for the 2026–2027 season.
