Walkerton product joins Listowel following a 61-point U18 AAA campaign and an unforgettable two-goal GOHL debut
LISTOWEL, ONT. — The Listowel Cyclones are proud to announce the signing of forward William Kueneman for the 2026–2027 Greater Ontario Hockey League season.
A native of Walkerton, Ontario, Kueneman joins the Cyclones following an outstanding offensive season with the Waterloo Wolves U18 AAA program. Across all U18 AAA competition in 2025–2026, the left-shot forward recorded 27 goals and 34 assists for 61 points through 68 appearances.
Kueneman’s combination of finishing ability and playmaking was also evident throughout the ALLIANCE regular season. He produced eight goals and 23 assists for 31 points in 28 games, establishing himself as a consistent offensive contributor for Waterloo.
He elevated his performance during the postseason, scoring four goals and adding three assists for seven points across seven playoff contests. His playoff production reflected an ability to contribute in important situations and raise his level of play when the intensity increased.
While Kueneman will officially begin his first full season with the Cyclones in 2026–2027, he has already provided Listowel supporters with a memorable introduction.
Kueneman made his GOHL debut with the Cyclones against the Waterloo Siskins at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena during the 2025–2026 season—and immediately made his presence felt.
He opened the scoring with an unassisted goal in the first period, recording his first career GOHL goal in his first junior appearance. Kueneman struck again during the second period, finishing a play set up by Aidan Renaud and Ryan Cranny to complete an exceptional two-goal debut.
Scoring twice in his first game at the junior level demonstrated Kueneman’s confidence, offensive instincts and ability to capitalize when opportunities presented themselves. His immediate impact also provided an early indication of the potential he brings to Listowel’s forward group.
Before joining the Waterloo Wolves, Kueneman spent several seasons developing within the Grey-Bruce Highlanders AAA program.
During the 2024–2025 season, he recorded 16 goals and four assists for 20 points in 34 games with the Highlanders U16 AAA team. He added another goal across eight playoff appearances and also gained experience at the U18 AAA level, appearing in three games for Grey-Bruce.
Kueneman enjoyed further success that season while representing Sacred Heart Catholic School. He registered six goals and seven assists for 13 points in only six Canadian High School Hockey competition games—an average of more than two points per appearance.
His development with Grey-Bruce followed earlier seasons at the U14 and U15 AAA levels. He also earned his first U16 AAA appearance during the 2023–2024 campaign before becoming a full-time and productive member of the Highlanders the following year.
From his 16-goal U16 season to his 61-point campaign with Waterloo, Kueneman has demonstrated meaningful offensive progression at each stage of his development. His nearly balanced goal and assist totals during the 2025–2026 season reflect a forward capable of creating scoring opportunities for himself while also distributing the puck effectively to his teammates.
Kueneman’s familiarity with the Cyclones, the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena and several members of the returning roster should assist his transition into a full-time GOHL role. His remarkable debut has already given Cycs Nation an early look at what he can bring to the lineup.
The addition of Kueneman provides the Cyclones with another talented young forward as the organization continues assembling its roster for the upcoming season. His proven offensive production, playoff performance and successful introduction to junior hockey make him an exciting addition to Listowel’s forward group.
