LISTOWEL, ON — The Listowel Cyclones are proud to announce the acquisition of forward Dax Vader ahead of the 2026–2027 Greater Ontario Hockey League season, bringing a talented Listowel native back home to represent his hometown club.
Vader joins the Cyclones after spending the past two seasons with the Stratford Warriors, where he established himself as a skilled, intelligent, and dependable forward at the junior level. The left-shot forward brings GOHL experience, strong hockey sense, and a mature two-way game to a Listowel lineup looking to take another step forward this season.
For the Cyclones organization and its supporters, this acquisition carries extra meaning. Vader grew up in Listowel and now gets the opportunity to wear the Cyclones crest in front of the community that helped shape his hockey journey.
During the 2024–25 GOJHL season, Vader made an immediate impact with Stratford, recording 12 goals and 14 assists for 26 points in 33 regular-season games. He followed that with another full junior season in 2025–26, adding six goals and 13 assists for 19 points in 46 regular-season games, before contributing three goals and three assists for six points in 17 playoff games.
Before entering junior hockey full-time, Vader developed through a strong minor hockey pathway. In 2022–23 with the Huron Perth Lakers U16 AAA, he produced an impressive 18 goals and 18 assists for 36 points in 33 games, while adding three more points in six playoff contests. The following season, he continued his development with the Waterloo Wolves U18 AAA, collecting 20 points in 35 regular-season games and raising his game in the postseason with seven points in 11 playoff games.
Vader also gained early junior experience with the Goderich Flyers during the 2023–24 season, registering one goal and three assists for four points in four PJCHL games.
His progression from Huron Perth, to Waterloo, to Stratford, and now to Listowel reflects a player who has steadily grown at every level. Vader brings offensive ability, discipline, playoff experience, and familiarity with the pace and expectations of the GOHL.
