LISTOWEL, ON — The Greater Ontario Hockey League (GOHL) has officially unveiled the rosters for the 2025 Top Prospects Game, with team names honouring two of the league’s most distinguished alumni: Joe Thornton and Mark Scheifele. The annual showcase is set for Tuesday, January 13 at 7:00 p.m. at the Miskin Law Community Complex, adjacent to the Peterborough Memorial Centre.
The Listowel Cyclones are proud to announce that forward Lyndon Cabral has been selected to compete for Team Thornton. Cabral has been a standout performer for Listowel this season, recording 10 goals and 13 assists, showcasing both his offensive production and two-way reliability. His selection reflects the high regard he has earned throughout the league.
In addition, Cyclones Equipment Manager Nathan Thompson has been chosen to join the Top Prospects bench staff for Team Scheifele. Thompson’s professionalism, preparation standards, and league-wide reputation continue to elevate the Cyclones organization, making his appointment a testament to Listowel’s strong off-ice leadership.
Cyclones Look Ahead to Friday’s “Battle of 86” vs Elmira
The Cyclones now shift their attention to a marquee matchup this Friday, December 12, when the Elmira Sugar Kings arrive at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena for another chapter of the celebrated “Battle of 86” rivalry. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
This rivalry consistently delivers some of the GOHL’s most intense, physical, and emotionally charged hockey, and Friday night’s contest is expected to be no different as both teams continue to push for positioning in a competitive conference.
