LISTOWEL, ONT — One of the region’s top young prospects will take his first GOHL shift in Cyclones colours Friday night.
Callum Brooks, a projected first-round selection in the 2027 OHL Priority Selection, will make his Greater Ontario Hockey League debut with Listowel on Friday, October 30, when the Cyclones host the Strathroy Rockets at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex.
The 15-year-old forward from Gowanstown, Ont., currently plays for the Toronto Jr. Canadiens U16 AAA program in the Greater Toronto Hockey League. He previously progressed through the Huron-Perth Lakers’ U14, U15 and U16 AAA programs.
Brooks enters his GOHL debut with recognition as one of Ontario’s leading prospects in his age group. In September, the Ontario Hockey League ranked him fifth on its preseason Top 50 Players to Watch list ahead of the 2027 OHL Priority Selection.
That recognition follows a productive 2025–26 season with Huron-Perth’s U16 AAA team. Brooks recorded 18 goals and 35 assists for 53 points in 30 regular-season games, then added seven goals and seven assists in eight playoff appearances. He finished with a combined 25 goals, 42 assists and 67 points in 38 games.
His arrival adds another reason to look forward to Friday’s matchup. The Cyclones enter the game riding a three-game winning streak and sitting second in the Western Conference with 21 points and a 9–3–3–0 record.
Be there to welcome Brooks for his first game in Cyclones colours as Listowel looks to keep its winning streak rolling. Puck drop against Strathroy is set for 7:30 p.m. at the Steve Kerr Memorial Complex.
