Guelph native returns for his third full season in Listowel following a career-best 16-point campaign
LISTOWEL, ONT. — The Listowel Cyclones are proud to announce that forward Trenton Harris will return to the organization for the 2026–2027 Greater Ontario Hockey League season.
A native of Guelph, Harris is coming off the most productive junior season of his career. The left-shot forward appeared in 48 games during the 2025–2026 campaign, recording seven goals and nine assists for 16 points while adding 38 penalty minutes.
His 16-point season more than doubled his production from the previous year, while his seven goals represented a considerable increase from the single goal he recorded during his first full GOHL campaign.
Harris delivered several timely contributions throughout the season, including an important performance during Listowel’s third-period comeback against the Waterloo Siskins in January.
With the Cyclones trailing 2–0 after 40 minutes, Harris scored the go-ahead power-play goal to complete Listowel’s comeback and give the team its first lead of the game. He later assisted on Jack O’Donnell’s empty-net goal as the Cyclones completed a 4–2 road victory.
Harris also found the back of the net during Listowel’s 6–3 victory over the Caledon Bombers, extending the Cyclones’ lead during a commanding second period. Days later, he sealed another victory with an empty-net goal as Listowel defeated Waterloo 4–1 at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena.
Those performances demonstrated Harris’ ability to contribute during important situations and provide valuable secondary scoring within the Cyclones’ forward group.
The 2026–2027 campaign will mark Harris’ third full season with the Cyclones and his fourth season appearing in a Listowel uniform.
He played 37 regular-season games during the 2024–2025 campaign, registering one goal and six assists for seven points. Harris also appeared in two playoff contests and was recognized as the Cyclones’ Most Improved Player at the organization’s year end awards banquet.
Rather than allowing that recognition to represent the peak of his progression, Harris responded with another substantial step forward the following season. He increased his goal total by six, more than doubled his overall production and became a more experienced presence within the lineup.
Harris originally made his GOHL debut with Listowel as an affiliated player during the 2023–2024 season. He recorded an assist in his lone appearance, collecting his first junior point during his first game with the Cyclones.
Across his three previous regular seasons with Listowel, Harris has appeared in 86 games, recording nine goals and 15 assists for 24 points. Including his two playoff appearances, he has already played 88 games in a Cyclones uniform.
Before joining Listowel on a full-time basis, Harris developed within the Guelph Jr. Gryphons AAA program.
During the 2023–2024 season, he recorded 13 goals and 14 assists for 27 points through 33 regular-season games with the Gryphons U18 AAA team. He elevated his production during the playoffs, adding four goals and two assists for six points in eight postseason appearances.
Altogether, Harris produced 17 goals and 16 assists for 33 points across 41 regular-season and playoff games with Guelph that season. He also contributed one goal and two assists through four playoff appearances with the Crystal Beach Academy U18 AAA program.
Harris previously recorded seven goals and seven assists for 14 points in 34 games with Guelph’s U16 AAA team during the 2022–2023 campaign. He added two goals and two assists in eight playoff games, completing the season with 18 points across 42 appearances.
His development began within the Jr. Gryphons’ U15 AAA program during the 2021–2022 season before he progressed through U16, U18 and eventually into the junior ranks with Listowel.
Harris’ path reflects steady development at every stage. After producing seven points during his first full GOHL season, he returned with greater confidence and offensive consistency, setting career highs in goals, assists and total points.
Now an experienced member of the returning roster, Harris will have the opportunity to build upon that progress while providing familiarity, competitiveness and proven junior experience to the Cyclones’ forward group.
The return of Harris provides Listowel with another established player who understands the organization, the coaching system and the expectations that come with representing Cycs Nation.
