Cyclones Rally in Third Period to Defeat Waterloo Siskins

Listowel, Ont- The Listowel Cyclones showcased resilience, composure, and timely execution on the road, storming back in the third period to secure an impressive victory over the Waterloo Siskins.

Waterloo carried the play through much of the opening forty minutes, capitalizing in both the first and second periods to build a two-goal advantage heading into the final frame. Despite the deficit, the Cyclones remained poised, setting the stage for a decisive push in the third.

That momentum shift began just 2:02 into the period when Ewan Muzzle opened the scoring for Listowel, finishing a play created by Dylan Szymanowski and Colton Henderson to cut the lead in half. The Cyclones continued to press, and minutes later Szymanowski buried the equalizer,  the team’s second goal of the night, off assists from Henderson and Ethan Fischer, tying the game and swinging momentum firmly in Listowel’s favour.

With pressure mounting, the Cyclones capitalized on the power play. Trenton Harris converted the go-ahead marker, taking feeds from Aiden Renaud and Fischer to complete the comeback and give Listowel its first lead of the evening.

Waterloo pushed late, pulling their goaltender in search of an equalizer, but the Cyclones remained composed defensively. Jack O’Donnell sealed the victory with an empty-net goal, assisted by Harris, to close out a dominant third-period performance.

Between the pipes, Ethan Kowatsch delivered an outstanding effort, stopping 40 shots and providing the backbone for Listowel’s comeback win in a challenging road environment.

The Cyclones return home on Friday, January 30, for a 7:30 p.m. puck drop at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena, where they will once again face the Waterloo Siskins. Listowel then heads back on the road Saturday, January 31, traveling to Strathroy to take on the Rockets.

The organization thanks its supporters and looks forward to welcoming fans back home Friday night as the Cyclones continue their push through the season.
