Owen Sound product joins Listowel following a productive U18 AAA campaign and an impressive 10-game introduction to the GOHL
LISTOWEL, ONT. — The Listowel Cyclones are proud to announce the signing of forward Ewan Muzzell for the 2026–2027 GOHL season.
A native of Owen Sound, Ontario, Muzzell joins the Cyclones after spending the 2025–2026 season with the Grey-Bruce Highlanders U18 AAA program. The left-shot forward also gained valuable junior experience as an affiliate with Listowel, appearing in 10 games and immediately demonstrating his offensive potential.
Muzzell recorded two goals and two assists for four points during his first 10 GOHL appearances. He made the most of his opportunities, contributing in important situations while adjusting to the increased speed and physical demands of junior hockey.
His breakthrough performance came during Listowel’s 4–3 road victory over the LaSalle Vipers. Muzzell scored his first career GOHL goal during the second period before earning his first junior assist on Clark deBoer’s go-ahead goal early in the third.
Recording his first GOHL goal and assist in the same game represented an important milestone for the young forward. His puck movement and well-timed presence around the net helped the Cyclones earn a significant road victory.
Muzzell scored his second junior goal during Listowel’s road matchup against the Waterloo Siskins. With the Cyclones entering the third period behind on the scoreboard, he found the back of the net just 2:02 into the frame, beginning a determined Listowel rally.
He later collected his second assist of the season on a Tate Berfelz goal during a home matchup against LaSalle at the Steve Kerr Memorial Arena.
Muzzell’s four points in 10 games provided an encouraging introduction to the GOHL. He also completed those appearances without receiving a penalty, demonstrating discipline as he adapted to junior competition.
While gaining experience with the Cyclones, Muzzell continued his development with the Grey-Bruce Highlanders U18 AAA team. He recorded seven goals and 10 assists for 17 points in 28 regular-season appearances while collecting 12 penalty minutes.
Muzzell elevated his production during the postseason, contributing two goals and one assist for three points through five playoff contests.
Across his Grey-Bruce and Listowel regular-season schedules, Muzzell produced nine goals and 12 assists for 21 points in 38 games during the 2025–2026 campaign.
The previous season, Muzzell delivered an outstanding offensive performance with the Grey-Bruce Highlanders U16 AAA program. He scored 18 goals and added 14 assists for 32 points in 31 regular-season games while collecting 44 penalty minutes.
He continued to contribute in the playoffs, recording two goals and three assists for five points through nine postseason games. Muzzell also received an opportunity to compete at the U18 level, appearing in three games for the Highlanders.
Before joining Grey-Bruce, Muzzell developed through two seasons with the Credit River Capitals AAA program, competing at the U14 and U15 levels.
His progression from Credit River to Grey-Bruce and ultimately into the GOHL reflects the steady development of a young forward who has demonstrated both scoring ability and playmaking potential.
The addition of Muzzell provides the Cyclones with another promising offensive player who already understands the club’s environment and expectations. His previous experience in a Listowel uniform should help support his transition into a larger role during the upcoming season.
With 18 goals at the U16 level, continued production at U18 and four points through his first 10 junior appearances, Muzzell has established a strong foundation upon which to continue building.
